FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Should
we be concerned that our tech people handle our systems issues more
or less independently?
This depends on whether or not you feel "held hostage" by
your IT resources. If your key IT people quit tomorrow, would your
business
suffer as a result? It's very common for technologists to build upon
a company's tendancy to exclusively defer to them. As a result, business
processes do not get properly documented, and owners are often left in
a fog when in times of crisis.
How do I get
my system to create the reports that I need?
If you have a system in place, it should be providing you with the measurement
tools to track your business. Although each system can be different,
the data usually exists somewhere within each system and needs the right
reporting mechanism to unlock the information.
Our systems always
seem to be crashing, and I don't know enough about them to trust that
I'm getting the right information from my IT people.
Is it normal for our system to be so unstable?
An unstable system is a handicap for any company, and system downtime
can cost a considerable amount in lost revenue either in one day or over
a period of time. With the right combination of hardware and software,
it is possible to have a reliable system that experiences
99% uptime and serves as a painless and invaluable tool.
